Eastbourne Grace Baptist Church

Who we are

Eastbourne Grace Baptist Church

We are an independent Reformed, Evangelical and Baptist Church, formerly known as Eastbourne Evangelical Free Church

In 2022 we changed our name to better reflect our convictions as a church. We hold to the doctrines of grace which describe God’s free mercy and favour towards undeserving sinners. We are a baptist church, because we believe that every man or woman must experience the life transforming work of the Holy Spirit through repentance and faith and that the believer obeys Christ by professing this faith in Baptism.

God’s people have been meeting in this building since 1907. We seek in our worship to be sincere, reverent and joyful. We do not gather together to be entertained, nor with a worldly focus, but to glorify the one true and living God.

The leadership of the church at present consists of a full time pastor (see below) and three deacons.

Our pastor

Tom has been married to Catherine for 11 years and they have 3 children, Reuben, Jesse and Clara. Tom was born and raised in South London.

He became a Christian in 2008. Before becoming a minister of the gospel, he was a primary school teacher. He trained for pastoral ministry at London Seminary. He was a pastor in South London for 5 years before accepting a call to the pastorate here in October 2021.
